Either ALL people in a society have an unaLIENable right to freedom of speech – or NONE have such a right.
There is no such thing as a right enjoyed by “some” people but not others – that is called a privilege.
There is no opinion or point of view that is unprotected.
Does this mean I agree with any and all points of view ever spoken? Of course not.
But as somebody who holds a number of viewpoints that are outside the “mainstream”, I must defend the rights of others to speak their minds, even when I vehemently disagree with what they have to say.
(Yes, I understand libel, slander, inciting a riot and other fringe examples of speech that are not absolute – not talking about that here.)
